On Saturday September 26th at 7:00 pm a screening of Casper is being held at Surprise Stadium. This is a fun way to kick off the spooky Halloween season with some ghoulish family fun. Chairs are not allowed on the stadium grass, though, so if you have misaligned feet you might have a little trouble sprawling on a blanket on the ground because of the pain in your feet, knees, hips, and back.
A case of foot misalignment, or recurrent talotarsal dislocation, can often go undiagnosed. Instead, we try to fix the symptoms of this problem (bunions, hammertoe, arch problems, back pain, etc.) because we don’t know that there is a larger force at play. If you were to fix your foot alignment, the other problems and pain could well go away too. Conservative methods usually just dull the discomfort and may fix a symptom or two, but they won’t actually correct the alignment issue. Surgery is required to fix the problem completely.
The HyProCure procedure is one way to fix your talotarsal dislocation. It’s a quick 20-minute procedure that is performed on an outpatient basis. You will be put under “twilight sleep” or a local anesthetic will be used. HyProCure is placed in the sinus tarsi—a space found in your ankle joint—which instantly causes realignment and stabilization. It’s not implanted into your bones, and it still allows full joint mobility. It may take a few weeks to get completely back to normal, but once you are healed you should be back to your typical range of motion. The rest of your body will need some time to get used to the new alignment, so physical therapy may be recommended.
